The Urban Edge Farm is an organic farm with 5 acres of vegetables, 18 acres of orchard, 5 acres of asparagus and 10 acres of wine grapes.  The family farm is a Cecchini & Cecchini Enterprise run by the Cecchini Family and farmed by daughter and son in law Allison Cecchini Erggelet and Julian Erggelet. Along with the farming responsibilities Julian is also a wine maker and along with his wine maker brother Sebastian own Erggelet Bros Wine.

The farm store is stocked with fresh seasonal organic vegetables grown on our organic vegetable farm and organic fruit from our certified transitional organic orchard (Certified organic May 2021).  Erggelet Bros Wine is sold by the winery and delivered for pick up. We also offer organic produce from other local producers.
In addition to our produce The Urban Edge Farm Store carries local JME Farms honey, Mark Mena sour dough breads, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil dipping mixture, honey wheat, rye & Challah bread & pastries from Grand Bakery Oakland, nut butters, jams & pickles.

The Urban Edge Farm is home to an orchard with a wide range of seasonal varieties, including cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, pluots, nectarines, citrus, pomegranates, persimmons and figs. Most of the fruit is available during the season by U Pick or We Pick in our farm store.

The vegetable farm is planted for year-round production. Tomatoes, peppers, summer & winter squash, cucumbers, basil, melons, eggplants and pumpkins ripen under the summer sun, and kale, beets, lettuce, mustard, radishes, chard, spigarello, mustard, turnips, broccoli and cabbage grow hardy in the cool winter.

At The Urban Edge Farm one of our overarching goals is to achieve Zero Waste. This means making sure everything that’s edible or biodegradable gets eaten or used to enrich the soil. We work with local partners that support this effort. One of our partners turns most of our waste into vermicompost that is used as an additive to our plantings in the greenhouse and field.

The Urban Edge Farm family is always looking to adopt ecological practices that promote healthy, nutrient-rich soil, increase biodiversity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and conserve natural resources.  We are currently planting native pollinator hedgerows as well as herbaceous windbreaks that protect our crops and yield multiple benefits for birds, insects, and soil.

We hope to entice local restaurants to use fresh local organic produce adding a farm to table experience in East County. Ask your favorite eatery if it uses local produce.
Online ordering is available at www.theurbanedgefarm.com and choose online ordering in the menu bar.
